First time I've ever seen one of these up close. This one was actually one of two built for civilian use. It was built for the "Director of services and product support" for Grumman, who used it to fly to Navy bases and confer with Navy pilots flying Grumman aircraft. That's why you don't see a tailhook or guns.

As you can see I'm fascinated by the landing gear on this plane :smile2:
 
Nice pics.
The first time I saw a Bearcat was at my local air show, back in the early 1980s, when one had just arrived in the UK.
It came screaming in, just above the treeline where I was sitting on the fire truck, and really impressed me - and it takes a lot to impress me !
