That's why there is a "Unfortunately, without Gurevich" part in the title of the thread. And about friendship with Stalin, yes, they close to each other, but not that much.

Extremely important in the USSR, especially from 1924-1953.

And Anastas was also a close ally of Krushchev (and became First Deputy Premier in 1957), and was a significant figure in the workings of the De-Stalinization of the mid-late 1950s.
 
He was one of those politicians that could sense where the wind would blow well in advance and thus survive any turmoil and shift of balance, while -at the same time- looking useful and impartial enough that anyone would consider him for a position, or ask for his advice.

Can be translated as from Ilyich (Lenin, Vladimir Iliych) to Iliych (Brezhnev, Leonid Iliych) without a heart attack, without a paralysis.
