Question for the old dudes on here, what was the craziest concert you guys have been to?

Probably the Police/Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, March 1982 at the Summit Arena in Houston. Nearly killed myself working that show. Lost count while running back and forth between projector rooms up in the catwalks and beaned myself on a beam. Nearly fell off of one of them, right above the stage. Would have been about a 40 feet fall to the stage. Couldn't hear for nearly 3 days after that one.

Most fun was Yanni on the Ethnicity Tour, American Airlines Center, March 2003. Wife and I had 3rd row floor seats, on the isle and were about 15 feet from the stage. Felt like we had run a marathon by the time it was over. It was grand to see everyone from 3-4 year olds to great grandparent age people there and everyone having a lot of fun.

September 17, 1971 at the Mid-South Colosseum in Memphis, Tennessee. ZZ-top was the opening act for the Allman Brothers. Billy Gibbons came out wearing a pair of red "hot pants" (remember Hot Pants?) and colored leggings. He was otherwise clean-cut and "normal" looking. The crowd jeered and laughed somewhat but after a short while the crowd was wild for them. They were terrific! They were relatively unknown then but I went out and bought their first album from Pop Tunes Records on Summer Avenue the next day. The crowd was more enthusiastic for ZZ top than the Allman Brothers! I was a college freshman then and they were the hot topic in my dorm for the next several weeks. And the outfit Gibbons wore was talked about as much as how GREAT a band they were. They were unforgettable on two levels, I guess.

Their later song "Velcro Fly" is ear-worming me right now! ("I need just enough of that sticky stuff, to hold the seams on my fine blue jeans....")

They were playing so loud that I feared having an hearing damage for three days.

And a bunch of weirdos had tried to force their way without payment. They were charged by the cops and at the end of the concert the street smelled of tear gas.

Wish 99x could do Big Day Out again, but Mumford and Sons was probably the best concert, while Noah Kahan was probably the funniest for obvious reasons.

A frustrated Johnny Ramone flipped off the crowd mid-song and the band stormed off the stage.

Me and a buddy bought scalped 2nd row seats. The people in the front row were smokin' weed and disappeared halfway through Joan's set. So we moved up.

First of all, the energy.

Then it became clear that in the shadows of backstage, a giant wall was building, then all of a sudden, images appeared on it during a high point in a song.

This is a fraction of all that went on, like I said, it's hard to put into words, the total experience.

In short, it was f**king amazing.

I would be a better judge if I had been sober.
Queen at the Seattle Center Colosseum 1980, that was memorable. I'd say that one, but it is fuzzy at best.
Springsteen same year same place. I remember they turned around and played an entire set at the folks seated behind the stage. He also just took off and went across the floor for a song and wandered back on stage to finish it.
Heart played the Yakima Speedway, a little podunk bleacher show in 1977. They were just making the rise on the charts then. Journey opened for them. Giant crowd of 6000 LOL.
