FW 190 External (Drop-) Tank Electrical Pump EP-1 E

The FW 190 could carry a 300 Ltr. drop tank, that was pressurized by supercharger bleed air. Fuel was transferred from the drop tank to the (292 Ltr.) Rear Main Tank, when the quantity of that tank was below 240 Ltr. Otherwise it was inhibited by a float valve. An electrical pump was built into the ETC 501 carrier rack. This pump was called EP-1 E and was meant to keep the pressure up, when flying at low manifold pressure and the supercharger was delivering at or below ambient pressure. The main tanks were not pressurized, but the drop tank was and so fuel transfer took place eventhough the EP-1 E was not running. As long as the supercharger bleed air was above ambient. Of course this bleed air connection had a check valve and a pressure relief valve.

I am interested in data about the EP-1E.

I cannot find anything about it. Not even a single actual photo.
I would like to know it's output pressure and capacity.

I don't seem to have any doc's about the Deutsche Benzinuhren A.G., Berlin DBU EP-1 Elektropumpe, often referred to as the EP-1E and used on the Fw 190 ETC 501 carrier to help pump the drop-tank fuel in addition to the pressure air.
I think it might possibly have the part code 8-4536 but I am not certain. Only lead on performance is that it seems to have had a lower power rating than the usual immersed fuel pumps.

Thanks for the reply Snautzer01 and Engineman. This little pump appears to be quite the little mystery machine. Wondering who would have any information about this??? The Deutsches Museum?

There are some DBU documents and booklets in the Udo Hafner Archiv [email protected] in the Vergasser und Einspritzanlagen section, but I do not have the CD (although I probably should buy it). However, I don't think it covers this EP-1 E from the titles but I could be wrong.
Overall, this falls into the general difficulty of finding documents from the smaller equipment manufacturers and also production manuals from almost all companies. Interestingly, the very highly produced fuel pumps for the DB engines (Erich U. Graetz) have very little information, apart from the simple overhaul in the DB manuals. Probably, some of this documentation does exist somewhere, but if it will be found, I cannot guess.

The EP-1 pump looked similar to the UP-1 pump.
