Well here's an update. been bouncing around on the destruction.
Wings put together and lower painted in aluminum as well as gear wells. According to the decal sheet the lower wing and the lower fuselage are nmf.
Used Alclad Aluminium but I'm not sure I like it. I think Dull aluminum would be better. I fist laid down a gloss black primer and than first I used Alclad Airframe Aluminum, WAY to shiny. So I went with the plane aluminum but that looks more like the USAF operation look alike aluminum dope finish.
Gun bay and nose gear the same
Mk 108 30MM were first painted Testors Meatlizer Stainless Steel than over coated with Alclad Gunmetal
I figure I'll try to rub some of the GM off leaving a bit of steel
Engines are a series of colors and I'm just not sure how much will be shown when done, Here the main engines are lower section, I believe the combustion chamber, gunmetal and the upper intake stages are in stainless steel. The engine here is from a museum in Germany I think, Internet photo from Wikipedia page on the Jumo 004.
The nose cone ont he intake is aluminum while the fan blades are Vallejo metal color stainless steel, this I used because it was shinier than the Testors or Alclad, The exhaust section are done in Alclad Pale Burnt metal. I tried the Vallejo color of the same and though the color looked right it had way to much shine to it.
Cockpit is mounted in the fuselage half. I need to piece it all together to check for weight and balance. There are cavities on either side of the nose gear where weight can be added.
