While they were getting the Jumo 004A ready, the Me 262 was nowhere near ready. So, why start producing the engine? Meanwhile, start developing the Jumo 004B or even better, cancel the BMW 003 in favour of the HeS 030


Somehow I feel that the HeS 030 could have meant the difference. Such a light yet powerful engine would have made the Me 262, Ar 234 and other jet designs much more capable.

Me-262 wasn't ready because it didn't receive development priority until Me-209 program was cancelled. Give Me-262 airframe and Jumo 004A engine priority and both will be in mass production during 1943.
