greetings.
which was the color of the wingtips of his F-4 after the heart was applied? I ask because I have seen different interpretation of this detail: all yellow as per eduard instructions, only the underside yellow, no yellow at all.
any suggestion?

Yes, it's the upper picture plane.
So, it's only the underside painted yellow. One can ask himself why eduard chose to show the upper surface painted yellow too.
thx so much.

Just the next rendition of the camouflage for the plane although the existed images didn't show the tops of the wing tips well. In the past in the profiles for the Bf 109F-4, the wingtips were painted yellow just at the tips only. But many pictures with the planes of the Graf's staffel show that the yellow colour could be applied up to the LW cross at the undersides. See the bottom pic above. The foreground kite presents it nicely as well as the demarcation line beteen the top and underside colours. However if you have a close up look at the Bf 109F seen partially on the right the demarcation line seems to be not noticed so it is quite unclear whether the yellow was all around the wing tip or not.. Actually it is quite difficult to identify the yellow colour in the B&W pictures. See the shot below. But judging by the shape of the demarcation line between the dark top and light underside and also the two tones of colour at the aileron , the yellow was there.

thx again.
I guess I'll follow the old latin saying:" in medio stat virtus".
