It would appear that any remaining P-38s still on order as of end of WWII were cancelled before the end of 45 so it would appear that the P-38 does make. Prototypes before the war and still being made at the end. I will reword my statement, the Spitfire was the only allied fighter in built and in operational service before, during and after the war.
I didn't know R.J. Mitchell was first with a flux capacitor.Supermarine Spitfire first flight 5 March 1946, first production July 1938, last production March 1948 (Seafire March 1949).
