Hawker Hunter, formerly known in the UK as "Miss Demeanour" was lost in an accident off the California coast while being operated as N345AX by the Airborne Tactical Advantage Company.

Thankfully the pilot ejected and survived but the airframe has been destroyed according to early reports.

Didn't this same thing happen just last year?

It seems that "amateur" jet fighter demo should always be accompanied by an airspace warning and perhaps a suicide note.

ATAC isn't a demo team. They provide dissimilar aircraft targeting for US military training. They happen to fly Mirage F-1's as chase birds for us.

IF flew out of Port Hueneme-Point Mugu NAS, it was on the job so to speak. Operating under a callsign per the link above.
