I hadn't seen a mod plate with the serial number stamped on the mod plate so they do exist, just intriguing why mine actually shows serial number and a stamped number 46189 I guess it must to relate to something but what? That is certainly the million dollar question. The Mosquito I'm helping to restore carries multiple mod plates. The plates themselves are also unique to major components like the wing, ailerons, and flaps. In some cases, the mod plates carry the serial number of our aircraft, RS700, and in others just a AS (assumed to be Airspeed) production number which varied, or both.

Hopefully one day something will turn up.
