This is indeed a homoglyph attack, where similar-looking characters are swapped to deceive users. It can involve Unicode or simple character substitutions like using an uppercase "I" in place of a lowercase "l". These are often used in phishing to spoof legitimate URLs. Always be cautious and double-check links before clicking.
 
Quite a few lowercase letters in the cyrillic alphabet can be used as well as some from the Greek alphabet.

While they appear the same, the unicode referenced by the computer system responds to that character instead.
