The oil system for the Hurricane Mk II features a viscosity valve which permits bypassing the oil cooler to allow the oil to warm up to operating temperature by circulating it back through the engine. Once the oil is up to temp, the valve opens and allows oil to circulate through the cooler. I have a number of manuals but none show the oil circuit in schematic form. My question is, why are there 3 pipes entering/leaving the oil cooler? Inlet, outlet, and what?
If anyone can post a schematic of the system and/or can describe what's going on here, your help would be appreciated.
