Identify a aircraft from WV II

Hello, how should I proceed to get a ID of an aircraft from 1940.
Is it possible just from an old photo, logo on the plane etc?

Heinkel 111. Someone should be able to identify the unit based on the crest very soon.

Looks like KG 26 as the main bomber wing but I'm not sure of which Staffel (Squadron)

Yep .. that's the Heinkel He-111 of the H variant IMHO. The colours of the emblem indicates the Gruppe Stab of the KG26. Was she crashed in Norway?

The shield is green, white lion, from 1939-42. The writing says "Beware Lions", I guess in reference to England's coat of arms

Hi, yes she landed just where we got a small airport today.
The date was 15.05.1940.. 17th of may some locals destroyed this airplane, I got the watch from it.

Im told that 2 HE 59 also had emergency landing, it might be the 2 listed in April?
