Interesting - my father trained with B-26s - 478Sq/336BG at McDill, then Sarasota before escaping to Fighters. "One a day" was in full force due to low time pilots. Dad liked the B-26 and never had any problems with it. Later, with the 355th FG, he played the role of IP with the B-26 base hack to the fighter pilots that wanted to learn to fly it. Basic motto - "keep the airspeed up in the pattern and landing"

- The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the official repository for records of military personnel who have been discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard.
- A veteran (or next of kin) may request his or her individual military personnel file (201 file) by sending a request to the National Personnel Records Center, Military Records Facility, 9700 Page Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63132-5100.

One more snippet of info.
I have found a B-26 named "Kathleen" from the 586th bomb sqn,s/n 468160 coded H9 C, though from what I have read the 586th were not based in Belgium, rather France and the Netherlands, so may not be relevant but you never know ?

Biff...have her check out this site. she may find some clues there. you can search using several different criteria....plane, group #, station, etc.. the first link is the home page...the second is a search for B26s.
