Yanagi Mfg Co., Ltd. was a maker of altitude meter.
I don't know those instruments were for IJN or IJA.

Thankyou very much. Now i just need to find out what the numbers represent.

I found this website (Production Indicator in terms of a/the production company),
so i think these instruments are from an aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Army.

Indicator production companies
-------------------------------------------
Company name: Yanagi production place

Production Indicator name;

- Type 95 Model 2 Altimeter
- Type 97 Altimeter
- Type 97 Model 2 Altimeter
- Type 3 Altimeter
- Type 98 Air Speed Indicator

I have received these items now and have scanned them in. Could anyone please help with clarifying the extra unknown tags and deciphering the hard to read serial numbers?

Also how do i find out what the serial numbers mean and what aircraft they're off?

Thankyou to Spinpachi for the translation so far!

Ash.

It makes little sense to research further details without the main bodies of instruments but
I think they come form Imperial Japanese Navy aircrafts as there are some stamps of anchor on them.

Type 1 Land Attacker Betty is possible.
Please do not ask me further as I am not interested in the plates 8)

I must apologize about my last post.
Nothing makes little sense when someone is interested in it.

And now I find out some plates have the stamps of STAR that was of Army.
They seem coming from several sources to be mixed.

I should not say anything definitely to identify them.
So sorry for my uncertain comment.

Shinpachi

that unknown stamp is "Secret"

Hello-I was wondering if someone could tell me what this IJA tag belongs to. Any help would be appreciated. I have also posted a few pics of the tag off of a compass which is a Marine bring back from the South Pacific. THANKS!

The 1st photo
☆第 6397 號..............(Army marking) Serial Number 6397
昭和 17 年 4 月........... April, 1942
株式会社 絹田電機製作所... Kinuta Electric Manufacturing Co Ltd

I have no idea about the product of Kinuta Electric Manufacturing Co Ltd.

The 3rd photo
第 R10577 號..................... Serial Number R10577
昭和 17 年 10 月................. October, 1942
株式会社 横河電機製作所 N.538... Yokogawa Electric Manufacturing Co Ltd

I have no exact idea about the N.538 either.

The 2nd and 3rd compass pictures show the MK-1 compass for the army which was equipped for Type 91 fighter, Type 95 model 3 intermediate trainer, Type 97 model 1 bomber, Type 98 direct cooperative reconnaissance plane, Type 99 advanced trainer and Type 100 transport plane.

It can be read like this -
陸軍省徴募課編纂................. Compiled by Recruitment Division of Ministry of Army
青年学校 教練科教科書 下巻..... Textbook for Drill Department of Youth School Last Volume

Again, I thank you for sharing your knowledge with me Shinpachi. I thought it was a survival manual of some sort from the diagrams inside. It still has the rice paper inserts inside as well as notes written by someone. I am very grateful to finally know about some of the things I have collected over the years!
