Can anyone tell me anything about this flag. My grandfather was a Marine the the South Pacific during WW2. There is something written on the flag but I cant make it out. Thank you

向井三郎 (Mukai, Saburo) is a male name. Mr Saburo Murai in western style.
I think he was a civilian because his flag looks like home-made to fly on the house.
