A little known device is the so called Jericho device giving a horrible screeming noise to the dropped bomb.
Two pipe tubes attached to the tail fins. A device for psychological warfare.

Or you could do it the cheap way like RAAF Catalina crews did in the Pacific, all you have to do is stick a razor blade into the neck of an empty beer bottle, stooge over an enemy base at all hours of the night, throw them out a blister and hey presto, its raining "bombs"!

often made of a card board tube with tappered wood nose and cylendrical wood base,some made from scrap ww1 butcher bayonet scabbards,these had three triangular cuts made in the edge of the steel scabbard

I would have to say yes after finding this photo from the book Heinkel 111 by Crowood Aviation series.
