I had no idea that some military prisoners were treated as spies, if they were found behind enemy lines in civilian clothes. This meant that they were sent to concentration camps, rather than POW camps as they should have been.
What really surprised me though, was that it was the Luftwaffe who got them out of the concentration camps, only 4 days before they were to be executed.
