I'm now starting work on another model of an obscure aircraft. I want to build a Hurricane IIB used at 71 Operational Training Unit, RAF, when it operated at Ismailia, specifically in late 1943 early 1944.
I have a single photo of the starboard side of one such aircraft, marked A-14 (no tail number discernable), as well as a list of tail numbers of IIBs dispatched to 71OTU during my time of interest. (I'm slightly resigned to the idea of building A-14 with a plausible but likely incorrect tail number.)
I was wondering if anyone had any more information on IIBs in this location and time, or even some information about how the squadron letters and numbers were applied on the port side of aircraft at Ismailia in this time frame!
