Pilsudski left a large space in Polish politics that was not filled, just like after Bismarck left German politics. Both countries headed down the path to ruin led by idiots. Pilsudski and Bismarck were both called warlike but they had good policies and united their countries. They both even look similar, they must have been born only a few 100km apart.
Polish elite in 1939 believed English and French alliance was worthwhile, but its not clear how they were going to help Poland and they didn't............... thoughout all WW2. But they were happy for Polish troops to fight and die for England and France in 1940 and 1944.
