I always liked the Bulldog, visibility must have been stunning

Many were up for disposal by the MoD about 15 years ago, and went for very low prices in some cases. A friend bid for one at under £3,000, and would have been accepted, had they not all been sold at the time !

That would have been £3000 well spent

Yep! I believe they had plenty of engine and prop life remaining, but would have needed a C of A inspection, being ex-military and not, at the time, on the civil register, but even with the cost of that, they were still a heck of a bargain.
