You know the guy who owned all those warbirds on his farm in Ohio, including that recently restored XP-82A, said he did not want the airplanes restored. He said that if they are restored they would be flown and inevitably crashed. He had a point, there.
 
the CAF had a perfectly good airworthy T-6 in Livermore,
hangared by a generous hanger renter.
Oooooo, it's to farrrrrr to go to flyyyyy it, said a whinging pilot.
So they moved it to the old Oakland airport.
Didn't take long to become so weather beaten it became unserviceable!
All over driving 40 miles to fly a beauty aircraft!
