In my castle....
What would have happened had Operation Valkyrie been a success, would it have brought an end to war sooner, would it have had rallied the Germans closer together, to fight even more fanatically, would it have made the fight more successful, with decision making less dependent on uncle Adolf, decisions being made by officers better suitable to the task, plus.....who would have taken over after Hitler?

1944 American Government would accept nothing short of unconditional surrender followed by economic destruction of Central Europe under the Morganthau Plan. No Government would accept such terms, German or otherwise. Nations of Central Europe will fight on as long as they have weapons and ammunition.

Morganthau wrote the plan between Jan.44, and Sept. of than year, it wasn't leaked until the Quebec conference in Sept 44.

The German government wouldn't have know of it then in Jun. July 44.

Seeing as how a big proportion of the casualties and deaths of both the allies and axis occurred in the last year of the war, and very little undeniable evidence of the Holocaust had been uncovered yet, if the German government had approached the Allies with a surrender proposal in July 44, they surely would had been dealing with much less bitterness.
