thats the way i feel she wasnt the best but it could be very deadly when used right didnt the flying tigers fight the zero with themIt was sturdy and fairly manueverable, and lasted throughout the war, and it had a good COG. Not a bad aircraft, not a superior one, either. Just a good workhorse.

sorry my spelling is not that good i did not do well in school i thought i read somewhere about someone fighting zeros with themP-40 was deadly against Axis bombers and against low-performance fighters, like the Ki-27 or Ki-43. Or when the pilots of Axis high-performance fighters made mistake and tried to dogfight the P-40 at low altitudes.
Flying Tigers were not fighting Zeros with P-40s.
(People here are affirmative to spelling and punctuation. Just saying.)
hey just wanting to hear peoples onpinons on the p-40 i hasppen to like the fighter i know she wasnt the best of her class but i think it did pretty well just wish we would have hd as better engine to make it more powerful would be happy to hear all opions on the p 40
thanks for the opinon i really like the p 40She was a far better aircraft than many want to give her credit for. Mostly I think that was due to how good the later aircraft were so that even though it was one of the best at the start of WWII, it was best used as an advanced trainer in 1945. Saburo Sakai is alleged to have said that the most dangerous allied aircraft was a well handled P-40; as with all things in flying, that well handled is the key.
Here's a great video on flying the P-40:
okThere are lots of threads discussing and comparing the P-40.

Tomahawk AH762 first arrived in the UK in July 1940 and was assembled at RAF Speke.I don't think that P-40 was there at the start of ww2. It was barely in production in 1940.
P-40 was not able to compete at all 'normal' altitudes with best aircraft of 1941-45 because it never received the engines' upgrades these aircraft gotten, despite it's good handling, sturdy construction and excellent rate of roll.

i wish would could have put a better engine in it
they should have though then it would have even betterThank you.
Unfortunately, start of the war was in 1939.
They could, but they would not, apart from prototype(s) that were themselves too late to matter.
The facility to add and remove fuel tanks and guns would have been great too.I wonder if they could have put the engine in the middle of the airframe and added the CoG forward.....or backward.....or off to the side
Well I know that, its always a topic of discussion though.Thank you.

.
As far as I know the only issue the British had was with altitude performance, like the Mustang MkI that is an engine not the air frame problemi wish would could have put a better engine in it
maybe switch to a 2 stage superchargerAs far as I know the only issue the British had was with altitude performance, like the Mustang MkI that is an engine not the air frame problem
