I was surprised at the two point hitch as well. In the worst case where the load must be pickled if one release hangs up that is going to get real messy real fast.

I would expect they had releases at the top of each split sling as well as on the aircraft belly so that hitting the pickle switch would open all four simultaneously to eliminate that risk factor. That is sort of normal in civil long line ops where the lower release is the primary and a second pickle opens the one on the aircraft belly. I never saw a double sling on civil aircraft but they would definitely have all four on the one switch for emergencies and just use the lower two to release the cargo in normal ops.
