Actually there is a couple of inaccuracies IMHO .. but I don't feel like correcting all of them. However the Polish–Swedish War (1563–1568) isn't any Swedish victory actually. Initailly it was the war between Poland and the Teutonic Order and the Moscow that was the Order ally in order to grab the TO lands. In 1557 Sigismund II Augustus who was the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania forced the TO alliance against Moscow. According to the Pozwol treaty the TO pledged to support Lithuania and to incorporate its lands into the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Certainly the Moscow reacted to that by annexing Dorpat and Narva (1558). Soon, other claimants to the legacy of the Livonian Order also entered the war, Denmark, which occupied Ösel (1560), and Sweden, which seized Reval (1561). In 1561 the TO Grand Master signed the Pact of Vilnius and decided to place himself under the protection of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The treaty granted the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia as a fief to Grand Master Kettler, who had converted to Protestantism. Riga and the rest of Livonia were ceded to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Certainly neither Moscow nor Sweden was happy of that. And that's the reason the Northern Seven Years War started The Sweden became the Moscow ally while the Poland allied with Denmark and Lübeck in 1963. When the Moscow army captured Polotsk and the Lithuanian territory north of the Daugava, it became clear that the war could not be confined to Livonia. Fortunately the John III who was connected to the Jagiellon dynasty through his wife, Catherine ascended the Swedish throne and a sudden reversal of alliances took place. The Poland became the Sweden ally while the Moscow allied with Denmark. None of the war participants got the supremacy over the enemy and on 13 December 1570, Sweden, Denmark, and Poland concluded a peace treaty in Szczecin. As a result, Poland and Lithuania retained the southern part of Livonia (including Riga), Sweden acquired Estonia, and Denmark secured the surrounding islands (including Ösel). In 1577, Tsar Ivan IV invaded the Polish and Swedish territories of Livonia, occupying most of the region with the exception of Riga and Reval. Poland responded with three military campaigns led by Stephen Báthory, during which he captured Polotsk, Nevel, Usvyat, Velikiye Luki, and other towns, and also laid siege to Pskov. It resulted in signing of the the ten-year Truce of Jam Zapolski (1582), and the return of the seized Livonian and Lithuanian territories. Russia also lost the war against Sweden; and as a consequence of the Treaty of Plussa (1583), it forfeited the access to the Baltic Sea it had previously secured. As a result of prolonged hostilities in the region of Livonia during the late 16th century, the territory came under the control of three states: Sweden, Denmark (the island of Ösel), and Poland. So it can be noticed that it wasn't the Sweden victory only but also the Polish one as the Sweden ally. However, the Livonian Wars did not lead to a definitive resolution regarding the ownership of the lands in the region.

Can you guys recognize the airplane parts behind? Are those fuselage portions or nacelles?
The usual remark: all girls in the 30s-40 look more beautiful than today's ones. I know, I know the photo is staged, but check how elegant she is!

Nacelles I think from the Dzus fasteners along the ground but I do not know what sort of plane.

By the button head rivits I would guess DC-3's but that is only a guess, and I agree they look like engine nacelles to my eyes.

Thanks for the input! My first guess was: the diameter of those parts is too small to be a fuselage. Second guess: nacelles (same as you) or kind of booms. I don't know what exactly did they produce in 1942 at Douglas, Long Beach and I'm not very good with all DC-3 derivatives recognition. But there are people here who have touched and inspected a DC-3 and can recognize those revision hatches eventually. To the left of the girl's face there is a cover, flap or sim. which can be a wheel well cover. On the other element, to the right of the girl, there is a huge cover with (are those?) Dzus-fasteners - is there anything similar in size on a DC-3 engine?

Definitely not a DC-3 derivative as those access panels are in the wrong places and there are too many. Likewise for A-20.

Maybe a DC-4/C-54.

Douglas also built the DC-5, A-26 and B-17, and maybe other aircraft, at that time..
