What armament is installed in the wing of the Closest Ki-44? It looks to big to be a 20mm, but I don't think it is one of the few armed with the 40mm either?Nakajima Ki-44s of 70 Sentai at Kashiwa April 1945 HIKO

Interesting, I don't think I have ever noticed the small teardrop shaped fairings 40mm cannon fairings before. I never did either. When I bought the kits in 1/72 and 1/48, I never realized the rarity of such a thing.
