March 1943. The Douglas Aircraft plant at El Segundo, California. A24's and SBD's are under final assembly. Note the Chevron Refinery. It looks like the usual afternoon marine layer is rolling in REDD

Suspect that may be a barrage balloon, but why in MAR 43, and if a blimp, why is it flying over a refinery? It would seem to me to be a safety hazzard should it fall into the refinery.

Certainly it can be the barrage balloon as well. With the quality of the pic and the view form the front it is quite difficult to state what kind of the airship it may be. Judging by its altitude I'm gona agree that's the kind of it.

Dutch 'Glenn Martins' over Malaya with, interestingly, one of only a few RAAF Wirraways sent there. The bombers are Martin 166, or 139 WH3 AIRH

Nice shot of very early P-39's, they look to be unarmed, and taken at the airfield about 30 miles from my home. Still an active ANG and Navy Reserve base.

The picture must have been taken sometime between February ( the unit was activated 1 Feb 1940 ) and March/April 1940 judging by the national markings.
