If ugly could win a war, Pearl Harbor would never have been attacked.
I (in my less-than infinite wisdom..........) actually think it's a neat 'n' tidy looking aircraft. - a bit like a single-tailed mini-Mitchell. I think there was a solid-nose option, which would be better-looking. Of course, the 7B is a LOT prettier than that other Douglas product, the B18..........If ugly could win a war, Pearl Harbor would never have been attacked.
It was the progenitor of the A20 - the wings and tail were retained, married to a new fuselage, with the wings mounted lower.and a lot uglier than the DB7/A-20/P-70 series aircraft from the same stable.
I don't think it's so ugly. The nose section reminds me of a Bolingbroke. If ugly could win a war, Pearl Harbor would never have been attacked.
When my dad was at Itami, he said it was an A-20 base then. Somewhere he's got some pics of the planes parked out on the flight line.Ok. I looked again. I haven't changed my mind. But, I love the looks of the A-20.
This is definitely her better side.In (somewhat half-hearted) defence of my opinion, here's the solid-nose version:

I think she's purrrrty! So there
I will admit that the bombardier nose looks like it came off an early-30s French bomber (no, that's NOT a compliment...)This is definitely her better side.
Very nice. Here Zippy, maybe a nice A-26 will make you feel better. Always reminds me of the movie Always...
