But they did develop a trapeze system to carry it, the Air Force did not acquire that system.F-106A did have a radar to track the target and telling you when to fire but after launch the Genie was just a bullet. Impossible to jam with ECM, and if you were a little bit off, well, close only counts in horse shoes and nuclear weapons.
But the guys on the USS Enterprise had it wrong. The F-104 did not carry the Genie.
