A little bit back the XC-99 was posted. Here are my recollections of the bird. The XC-99 flew for the USAF for several years as a Super heavy lift transport. I guess you'd say it was the C-5 of it's day. Used in Korea to move a lot of troops at one time and to haul lots and lots of cargo, it was retired to Kelly AFB but never broken up. Here she set all broken harted.
And here she is as the National Museum of the USAF is taking her apart to transport back to Dayton for restoration.
