Can you believe they flew those things across the Atlantic?
I read of where an H-19 crew in AK was ordered to fly their chopper to the Sikorsky factory in CT for some upgrades. It was winter and they chose to fly down to the South, across the Southern USA and then back up the East Coast to CT. When they finally arrived they were informed that they had just completed the longest helicopter flight in history.
I had no idea what this was. I had only seen the second picture of it you posted. It looks pretty cool.
Think Gerry Andersen and it all comes together.OH HELL NO!!!!!
No idea what so ever!Think Gerry Andersen and it all comes together.
Not part of my world I guess. Never heard of. I guess that's why I can't think of him?
He created a number of TV shows in the fifties and sixties. Most involved marionettes (Supermarionation) and fanciful, futuristic aerospace miniatures. Supercar, Fireball XL-5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Space 1999, etc.Not part of my world I guess. Never heard of. I guess that's why I can't think of him?
Ok so I know the shows, never knew the model designer. I'm not really good at reading the credits and never watched much of the shows themselves. One or two Thunderbirds that I recall. He created a number of TV shows in the fifties and sixties. Most involved marionettes (Supermarionation) and fanciful, futuristic aerospace miniatures. Supercar, Fireball XL-5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Space 1999, etc.
But who did the Star Trek models? The Romulan Bird of Prey, The Enterprise , Klingon Battle Cruser? The Space 1999 Eagle? These are the questions?I don't think Gerry Anderson actually designed the more "famous" models himself. He does get the credit though. I know Brains designed the Thunderbirds
