Well gentlemen, once school starts, my posting will slow down a little since I will be gone from 9-5 five days of the week. Weekends will be normal as usual.

I recall hearing that when they got word that their F-102's were grounded due to a flight safety problem the guys at an Iceland base worked all night to fit a .50 cal machine gun into the baggage pod of a T-33A so they would have something to intercept aircraft with.

The first T-33A's were built with two of the original F-80 .50 cal guns installed but that was discontinued and the guns installed only on those T-birds designated as gunnery trainers. You'd have thought that in a place like Iceland they would have used armed T-33A.
