How about a dial face for a diaphragm type low pressure differential gauge? An older gauge designed to display pressure in psi would usually be marked in 1/8 or 1/16 divisions.
I do not know enough about WWII aircraft systems to say what in particular it might have been used for. Maybe the difference between the air pressure inside a fuel tank or pressurized cabin vs ambient atmospheric pressure, or the drop in MAP through a carburetter, or some such?? Otherwise did they use this type of gauge for engine systems control/monitoring? Some gauge variants are called capsule type diaphragm differential pressure gauges, or alternatively - diaphragm type capsule differential pressure gauges.

That does appear to be it. Does anyone know what the gauge is for and why it is marked in 1/16 increments (or whatever it is)?

Whoops, nevermind - I found some information in the US TME9-369A description manual of the German 88-MM Antiaircraft Gun Material.

"(c) The elevation for range in degrees and 1/16 degrees is set in on the elevation scale or in meters (on ZF.20E only) on the rangedrum."

This reminds me of a chap sometime ago who lived in the south of England who used to post "aircraft" finds he'd made on (IIRC the defunct Flypast forum). Each time he was positive he'd found a crash site and each time someone could identify the parts. An each time they'd be from a car, a bicycle or some kind of farm machinery. It shouldn't stop you looking but it does also highlight how much garbage there is out there, making life difficult.
