Wow, Beau, what fantastic photos of the MiG-3's. I have never seen them before but they are great! Many thanks. Did everyone notice the thin black borders to the red stars? Very early WWII style. Aramis, I heartily recommend Erik Pilawskii's book as an authoritative reference. Title: Soviet Air Force Fighter Colours 1941-1945. I would be very careful of these colour pictures of the MiGs

So it seems stars on wings or stars left off - the choice is yours without hard reference fotos for a particular aircraft.
I wouldnt worry about it. Your models look fine.
