Could anyone tell me what this is my dad found it in the river in Woodford Kettering and has been told it is possibly a plane part it's made from aluminum

It does not ring any bells for me but some dimensions would help - as presented it would appear to be some 25 to 30 cm (10 - 12 inches) diameter.
