Major Gordon Corrigan recounts the story of
an audacious Allied bombing raid in 1944, in which 15 planes were sent on a mission to
destroy a German prison in Amiens, allowing incarcerated French resistance fighters to
make their escape. He also examines the aircraft used in the mission : the Mosquito
bomber, a light, two-seater plane made of wood designed to be able to outrun enemy fighters
and deliver its payload precisely at close range.
