It is from one of the Allison Service School Handbooks - and I think most are on this forum if you do a search

I have never seen anything similar covering exhaust stains but tetra ethyl lead stains tended to be off white (and varied due to differing TEL levels and mixture levels and how much oil the engine was consuming) while black indicated the engine had been running very rich.

That double oilcone on the borate bomber is living up to its name.

Nice to see one kept as a borater as that is the only thing that saved many turkeys from scrapping.
