Rear gun on SBD

I know that the twin .30 collapsed into the fuslage but how did the rear canopy retract? Any anwser would be appericiated,

In Post #1 in that thread you refer to your Dauntless Group Build. Can you link me to that? I'm looking for a good kit on one of these to recreate an SBD-5 off a photo I have. If I can find one, my little nephew is going to put down his iPhone (whether he wants to or or not), and we're going to give it a whirl. Or, I'm hoping...

Yeah I saw when things started to pile up on you. Once I started reading the threads I couldn't stop. I'll find something that will work for us. Right now I'm just feeling like a young boy who's about to try on his first pair of long pants.
