BTW I see the serial on the decal sheet, but not the tail number. Maybe they give the older option with a Roman numeral, which for the 445th BS should be I (the 2 black bars, #29 on the decal sheet maybe?)
P.S. I was tempted to use AI to colorize the nose art for comparison - here it is. IMHO the decal-makers have used the same "trick" to come with blue-ish (transparent) pants.

This is the only plane that I plan to build for a second time. Back in the late 80's, I was inspired by an article in Scale Aircraft Modelling by Ian Huntley. Notes on the color schemes of the prototype Spitfire K5054. Somewhere in a catalog, possibly in that mag or the Squadron monthly newsletters, there were the decals, canopy, exhaust, prop and possibly wheels by Tasman; I don't remember for sure. Unfortunately, that model got broken and instead of keeping it (like I should have) it was pitched. Recently on ebay up popped the decals and canopy for K5054; the two things that I couldn't reproduce on my own. The prop, wheels and exhaust will be easy to source or scratch so I'm now able to put a real bookend on my Spitfire collection.

The Airfix will be a major improvement over the Heller that I used before. This brings into focus a conundrum; toooo maannnyy kittssss. I have the kits for the rest of the group builds. I also have about 10 other "must builds" sitting in the stash. I will be unashamedly suggesting future GB's on those in the future. I might also be skipping some of the future GB and doing on the workbench instead. Can we put a OTWB instead of a GB badge in our sigs???

Remember about the correct shape of the rudder depending on the time ... ;)

IIRC there were much more differences in the appearance between the time she got the maiden flight and the time they showed her to the press first time. Later introduced a couple more modifications updating her almost to the Mk.I Additionally it should be kept in mind that the skin panels of the top wing were different than the Mk.I had.

Purchased these in April and said I would review when I was finished

Finally finished spraying and removed them. Happy to say, they work just as well as Eduard masks. I had one mask lift ever so slightly on a curve and stuck it down before spraying. To be fair, that's happened with Eduard masks as well and I left these on for 13 days. I will definitely be buying these again as they make some masks for kits I have that Eduard doesn't
