True but in fairness it is easy to "look over" a plane that has buried itself down to the cockpit. Maybe that was what the nose armour was for.

Well i dug it out this morning and on opening the box i found this.

Got a buddy in Georgia asked me the other day about an F-14B. I offered him a Revell D and a Hasegawa B, he ordered two of the new Tamiya! What do you have to do to get rid of a Hasegawa F-14?
