My latest from Mr.Postie: Kaman SH-2F Seasprite - Airfix 1:72.

Deciding whether to do an -F or convert her to a -G, both versions used by the RNZN.

Nice one Evan, and it brings back happy memories.
The pub across the road from me, sadly long closed now, used to be a great laugh. One Landlord had at one time been a Royal Navy deep diver (mixed gas and air) and had a great sense of humour. This was at the time of a TV Ad for Guinness featuring a swimmer beating a record for swimming out to sea, around a buoy and back, winning pints of Guinness, which had been poured and were just nicely settled as he landed.
So, when the Guinness ran out in the pub, and was being changed, we would wait patiently, but said Landlord sometimes forgot to 'pull it through' and serve those waiting, at which point he'd make the excuse that the swimmer hadn't rounded the buoy yet.
So I got a Sea Sprite model, painted it 'Rescue Yellow', with the lettering 'Sun Inn Rescue' on the side, and a red, flashing L.E.D. underneath, and suspended it, high above the Guinness pump, out of immediate site, on fine nylon fishing line, conveniently tied-off where we could reach it.
Every time the Landlord forgot, we'd lower the chopper, whilst the lads slapped their legs rapidly, imitating the noise of rotors.
Great fun !
Anyway, back to the thread .........

I thought that was your stage name old chap. Ah, but of course, you normally use 'Tina Turnip' on those ... er... 'special' days, don't you, which is far superior to your old stage name. I don't think 'Sally Swede' had the same ring to it ..............

Nice one Jim. Special Hobby have some interesting 1/48th scale stuff on the way, including a Tiger Moth (for Andy) and a Beaufort - might break my 'No more kits' rule, and try both.

Well, I guess I'll be the first to post any Christmas acquisitions! Got one of these, which I'm sure surprises you all...

I've also been told that part of the gift are any aftermarket things I may need, which is not very much for this kit. Having experience with the birdcage version, I will be replacing the wheels, as the tread pattern is wrong for the aircraft I'll be building, and resin will probably look better than rubber. I will also likely buy some HGW seatbelts as even though they can be frustrating, will look a lot better than the PE ones provided in the kit. Otherwise, decals or masks, haven't decided. It'll be hard to keep my hands off of this one for a month until the Allied Manufactured GB, but hopefully I can get going on the Bf 109 again soon to get my mind off of it.
