Removal of Grave Markers in American Cemeteries i Europe (1 Viewer)

There seems to be some confusion here.
All U.S. veterans get the same grave markers (Headstones). Some cemeteries have had extra plaques or historical markers indicating that the person buried was "black". The special recognition is the issue, as now all veterans will be given the same recognition.
The Trump administration is in favor of equal recognition. For example, there will never be a special marker for a Trans or gay veteran.
No headstones or grave markers are in danger of removal. Just any signage singling out the deceased as belonging to a particular ethnic group.

The person I was replying to knows nothing about the person being blamed yet made wild, uninformed comments.
I was just politely informing the individual of their lack of knowledge. I call them out and I am the one getting blamed???

My comments were and are very well-informed. Due to forum rules I can't provide direct support for them here, but anyone with a healthy news-feed can see that I don't broach a topic unless and until I know something about it. Aside from the offhand jokes, which my comment which seems to have triggered you is not one.

I'm amenable to disagreement, but I don't tolerate disagreeable disagreement here.

Also, cussin' isn't a sign of maturity, in my opinion.

Not sure I'm outraged yet.

All I could glean from the article is that information panels from the visitor centre had been replaced.

I haven't seen any reports of grave markers being removed, which is the title of this thread.

Am I missing something?

I was thinking the same. I don't have much info on the subject. So, while it piques my interest, I'm not especially upset yet.

What I'm doing is wondering if anyone credible is running down the story, and the facts need to be checked before getting too upset about it. The issue will likely be more of a question of, "what exactly is going on , assuming it isn't "fake news," and who is causing it to be done?"

There are several news sources that have covered this. There is a special app that I know is out there that tells you who publishes what and from what angle. I am surprised this thread has lasted as long as it has with the weight of politics hanging over it. That being said, let's get along and all have a great week. Let's get back to aircraft.
