Did the Germans ever Use Captured Russian Artillery against
Heavy Bombers in Defense of the Reich?
:?:

Hi,I'm not sure, but the Germans must of captured at least some soviet 76.2mm 3",and 85mm A.A.guns,although I'm not sure when the 85mm piece came into production.? Starling.

During 1941 and 1942 the German Army probably encircled and destroyed at least 100 Red Army divisions. That's a lot of captured equipment. Much of it was depot rebuilt to German standards and then issued to Wehrmacht units. Some weapons were rechambered to use standard German ammunition. Others were used as is with captured ammunition and/or German ammunition manufactured in the Soviet size.

Soviet 76.2mm Model 1931 AA Gun became the German 7.62 M.31(r).
Soviet 76.2mm Model 1938 AA Gun became the German 7.62 M.38(r).
Soviet 85mm Model 1939 AA Gun became the German 8.5 M.39(r).
Soviet 37mm AA Gun 61-K became the German 3.7cm Flak M39a(r).

Soviet AA guns weren't the only weapon reused. The German Army also modified and issued thousands of tanks, artillery pieces and anti tank guns.
