Great thread.

Vasily Ivanovich Minakov .... Very interesting! What is the name of his book? Is it in English? Great Photos! Reesche

Unfortunately, I have never encountered his books in English translation. Minakov's books, although written in the typical Soviet style prescribed by the political department of the army, are still characterized by some liveliness and the presence of interesting details.

This is a translation of Minakov's large interview from iremember.ru: Part 1 & Part 2. I found this interview quite interesting.

That's the translation? What was it translated from?

Translated version is Reesche's Massimo Tessitori web link. The original text is above your message.

Here is a great link to a movie on YouTube that demonstrates what the Russian airman went through with the IL-3 (the snubby nose version) right before the IL-4 that I have built. A very great movie produced in Russia with GREAT English vocals and great accurate surroundings ! ...

These are clips from the old Soviet film Torpedo Bombers. It's a good film. You should watch it..
