'These guys' is Mal Mayfield who is himself a more than decent modeller. It is definitely worth getting in touch as he will understand what you want and may well be able to help you out.

Nigel Julian of P-47 Heaven and the 56th FG website uses Mal's products and I've seen the results first hand, very good they are too
