Seeking a source of an AMAZING dogfight story!

Hey! I am looking to find the source of a World War II dogfight story. I think it's between a Spitfire and a Messerschmidt somewhere up around Denmark or over the North Sea. The Spitfire, or maybe a Hurricane, gets into an intense air battle that lasts quite a while. When the pilot returns to his homebase in England, a staff officer or NCO looks at him oddly and prompts the pilot to stand on a scale. It's discovered he lost SIGNIFICANT weight due to sweat.
