Spitfire IX ICM 1/48

This was something of a mojo restorer as I went off the boil with modelling recently. Recent builds in the GB section gave me a heads up to the pitfalls of the kit and helped me actually complete something for a change.

I decided to use the rockets and centre line bomb even though it's unlikely that this particular aircraft ever carried that combination of arms.

The common decals are from the kit but the squadron codes etc are from an aftermarket sheet I had kicking about.

The aircraft represents a 602 squadron machine shortly after D day with cut down invasion stripes.

I think tired ground crew mounted the propeller conversely. Warn the pilot before flight!.

Very nice Greg. I bought mine years ago and the right fuselage at the wing root was short shot. The promptly sent me the entire sprue. Good service. I might have to get on it for the Spitfire GB
