Hello,
Today I would like to present my Spit MkII, 1/48 scale, Eduard weekend and Space 3D accessories (Eduard).
For me, this Spit is actually a model of a model. I am also into radio control model aeroplanes and during the winter of 1983/1984 I built a 1/6.3 scale model of a Spit II which allowed me to compete in a few competitions and finish 5th in the 1985 French championship. It was the P 8088 NK-K, based on the 3-view colour plan from Profile Publications.
The Eduard model is not bad, but what can I say about the Space bag... I think I ran into a packaging problem. Everything was in there to make an early Spit MkI:
the old landing gear control, a sight to replace the collimator, nothing but mistakes. I can't imagine that Eduard would do that on purpose.
Another problem is that the NK-K codes are not the right colour on the decal sheet, so I had to redo them with adhesive masks.
Gunze paint and Tamiya matt varnish.
