In 1966 the Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC) made a video on the postwar service of a Canadian-made Vickers Supermarine Stranraer. Enjoy.

Shame the video does not show the interior, but this site below includes interior images from wartime service.

I visited this very same Stranraer at the RAF Museum in 2022.

I wish I'd lived in Canada during this era. Few people, open spaces. Flying boats.

The standard internal fuel load was a nominal 500 Impgal in 2x 250 Impgal tanks (actual 496 Impgal fuel with a max of 48 Impgal oil - per the 1962 FAA TC).

Each of the conformal underwing tanks held 180 Impgal, so nominal maximum fuel load was 860 Impgal.

The nominal designed range was 1080 miles with full internal fuel, normal flares & such carried internally but no external bombs.

RAF/CC range for planning with full internal and external fuel and ? bs warload was 1600 miles with 50 minutes reserve at an average cruise of 105 mph TAS.

The RCAF considered the safe operational range with maximum warload (including 1000 lbs bombs/DCs) and full internal fuel to be a max of about 540 miles with reserves at an average cruise of 90 mph TAS.
